The Arts Industry Council of Victoria (AICV) is the State’s independent voice for the arts.

AICV was established as a non-profit peak body in 1989 to enable all sectors of arts activity in Victoria to speak with a common voice.

Our membership includes individual practitioners and arts organisations ranging from small independent companies to large state cultural institutions. As well as working across all artforms, our membership continues to expand to include other creative industries professionals from the design, film, fashion, architecture and gaming sectors and more.

AICV members represent approximately 7,000 Victorian creative organisations, artists and artsworkers who support and engage with hundreds of thousands of audiences and participants each year.

Membership is free for artists, artsworkers and arts organisations who agree with our Manifesto.

We advocate on behalf of our constituency and contribute to public debate by providing leadership and forums for discussion within the sector.

AICV is one of four state arts industry councils, which also include: Arts Industry Council of South Australia, Chamber of Arts and Culture Western Australia and Tasmanian Creative Industries Council.
